Travel from Edinburgh on a flexible 3 or 4-day journey through the Scottish Highlands and northern Scotland. This itinerary is designed for visitors who want to experience many of the region's best-known landscapes, villages and cities in one convenient route. The journey begins in Edinburgh and continues towards Fort William through the scenery of Loch Lomond, Glencoe and the Highlands. Stay in Fort William for one, two or more nights depending on your preferred itinerary. Continue from Fort William to the Isle of Skye, with opportunities to visit famous locations according to available time and weather, including Glenfinnan Viaduct, Portree, Eilean Donan Castle and Skye's dramatic coastal scenery. The route then continues to Inverness, the largest city in northern Scotland, with a possible stop at Loch Ness. Stay in Inverness for one or two nights as requested. From Inverness, travel south through the heart of Scotland towards a resort in the Stirling area, with possible stops in Cairngorms National Park and Pitlochry.
